Knell (Unreal Engine 5) - 2025
Knell is a game demo environment created for my Digital Media Major Project final. The piece is designed as a demo game environment, with a focus on audio-visual fidelity utilising Unreal Engine
Original character modelled in Blender and Textured in Substance Painter. The character utilises an adapted Manny 89 bones rig for integration into Unreal.
The armour pieces are separated meshes, in order to be able to move and deform more like real armour where pieces slide over one another rather than bending as a uniform piece. This requires very detailed weighting of each bone, particularly in places with many individual pieces such as the armour on the wrist and fingers.
